We at International FSA Kenshinkan have been exploring forms of fighting unrestricted by rules as part of our pursuit of the roots of karate from a martial arts perspective. We believe that when gloves are worn original karate technique cannot be properly executed. Three years ago we came up with Absolute, rules that allowed metsuki (strikes to the eye), attacks to the groin, kansetsuwaza (submission), throws and headbutting. By using these rules and varying stance, timing and technique we realixed we had revived techniques of karate in its original form.
Through my friend from Wajutsu Keishukai, Nishi-Sousui, I discovered the legendary martial arts, Lethwei from Myanmar. When I heard that Wajutsu Keishukai were looking for Japanese fighters to go up against Myanmar Letwhei champions in the event Kushima's Fight, I entered Kenshinkan's Masayuki Sato. Although he eventually lost the fight this was the point at which I truly became interested in the bare fisted techniques of karate and I feel now is the time to pursue this.
Karate was once considered one of the most powerful forms of martial arts. Nowadays when most people think of karate they think of the safe rules that have become predominant. We want to develop CHAOS MADMAX to recapture karate's former mantle.
Throughout Japan now there is a movement that is returning to bare fisted fighting. I see CHAOS as the ultimate level in bare fisted fighting.
