1. |
Bouts shall be fought in ring of at least 6.5 meters square with four ropes. |

In principle, fighters should have their hands wrapped in bandages supplied by the tournament, however if two opponents both agree they may fight without bandages. A mouth piece and groin protector must be worn. Fighters may also wear ankle protectors if they wish. |

Fights shall proceed as follows
i.One Match: 3 rounds of 3 minutes each, or 5 rounds of 3 minutes each
ii.Tournament: 2 rounds of 3 minutes each or 3 rounds of 3 minutes each
Intervals between rounds should be 1 minute in length. |

The outcome shall be determined as follows
| i. Knockout |
a) |
When a fighter is down for 10 seconds and can't get up. Or when it is declared by the referee that the fighter cant get up. |
b) |
When a fighter is down 3 times in one round |
| ii. Technical Knockout |
a) |
When the referee declares the bout can not continue due to injury |
b) |
When the tournament doctor declares that the bout can not continue because a fighter is injured |
c) |
When a second throws a towel into the ring |
| iii. Referee Decision |
a) |
One Match
1 When one fighter has knocked the other fighter down a greater number of times they shall be declared the winner
2 When each fighter has knocked the other down an equal amount of times a draw is declared |
b) |
Tournament
1 When one fighter has knocked the other fighter down a greater number of times that fighter shall be declared the winner
2 When each fighter has knocked the other down an equal amount of times points shall be awarded based on, in order, (a) damage (b) clean hits (c) aggressiveness. The winner of the round shall be awarded 10 points and the loser shall be awarded points based on their performance in relation to the winner. |

Legal Techniques
- Punching (techniques including straight punches, uraken (back fist strike), ippon ken (forefinger knuckle fist) and shuto (knife hand strike)
- Kicking (all kicks with the exception of kicks to the groin)
- Head thrusts
- Elbow strikes
- Standing submission techniques
- Throws
- Attacking an opponent by grabbing their leg when they kick

llegal Techniques
The following techniques are fouls. During the bout fouls will result in a warning. Two warnings will result in a penalty, three warnings will result in two penalties and additional penalties will be given for each further warning.
- Metsuki
- Attacks to the groin
- Biting
- Attacks to the back of the head or from behind
- Attacking an opponent who is down
- Tackling: pulling the opponent from below the waist with the intention of making them fall. Head thrusts or strikes with the body that are deemed to be attacks will not result in a foul.
- Grabbing any part of the opponents clothing (dogi, obi, shorts etc.) or using any part of your own clothing in a choking technique or other attack
- Passive behavior during a bout
The referee may warn any fighter who displays passive behaviour during a bout

Disqualification
Fighters will be disqualified in the following cases
- Intentional fouls
- Failure to follow referee instructions during a bout
- Failure to appear for a bout or being late for a bout

Bandages
Fighters must wear the bandages supplied by the tournament. Bandaging may be reinforced by tape supplied by the tournament. However hands may only be wrapped in tape twice. Three or more layers of taping is prohibited. Twisting or creating a knot in taping is also prohibited. No taping or bandaging is allowed on any part of the body other than the hands.

If a fighter is injured, whether or not the bout will continue shall be determined upon consultation between the tournament doctor and the referee. If it is determined that a fight cannot be continued the winner shall be decided in accordance with the following.
i. |
If the injury is caused by a foul committed by the fighter's opponent the referee shall declare a rest period. If the injured fighter is still unable to continue the bout after the rest period the fighter that committed the foul shall be declared the loser. |
ii. |
If the injury is caused by carelessness on the part of the injured fighter, the injured fighter shall be declared the loser.

iii. |
If the injury occurs accidentally and can be attributed to neither fighter, the fighter that is leading in points at the time of the injury shall be declared the winner if in a 5 round bout 2 rounds have been completed (or if one round has been completed in the case of a 2 or 3 round bout).

Wear
Fighter may wear whatever they wish. However it is prohibited to wear anything that may cause injury to the opponent during a bout.

Any matters arising that are not covered by these rules will be handled by consensual decision of the referee and tournament organizer. |
